Based in sunny West Hollywood, Ritual is a new kind of health brand led by the belief that you should know exactly what’s in your vitamin and how it works. We use only the best nutrient forms and publish our sources and research for all to see– because transparency is kind of our thing. Our mission is simple: to make women feel their best, every day, starting with one daily ritual.

Our team of curious skeptics is made up of world class scientists, e-comm whizzes, and straight up hustlers. We’re small, well-funded, and on a mission to reinvent an entire industry. If you’re a team player and questioner who refuses to settle for pseudoscience, we want you.

Engineering Lead

Los Angeles, CA

What You'll Do

You will be the one who calls the shots for all of our engineering efforts. This includes short and mid-term projects that will immediately move key company metrics as well as laying the technical foundation for long-term success.

This is an exciting opportunity and critical role for a very fast-growing brand. We understand that good tech is a pillar for company success, and we think you'll agree. You'll have the autonomy to explore what that ought to look like while working across the company to ensure that good technology is enabling all teams in an appropriately scaled fashion. Oh, and all the while ensure we are continuing to regularly deliver new features and iterations.

In a nutshell– lead all of engineering for both the "here and now" and the future. Sound scary? Then this isn't for you. Sound exciting? Awesome, read on...

As an Engineering Lead, you’ll:

  • Lead the design, architecture, and execution of everything dev.
  • Establish engineering processes, define company engineering standards, identify and implement core technologies, and remove technical hurdles.
  • Work directly with our Product and Marketing teams to implement core features.
  • Build solutions for appropriate scalability. You're ok building something "hacky" if it fits the need, but can also callout real issues and create elegant, scalable solutions for them.
  • Explore how technology can enable our company mission.

Who you are

  • Full-stack. You've worked on creating back-end micro-services, front-end component systems, data pipeline architecture, API design/versioning, modern JavaScript libraries, setting up EC2 instances, webhooks, load balancers, caching solutions, responsive images, responsive grids, CSS pre-processors, and templating engines. All over the board, huh? If you can handle anything that's thrown at you– we want you.
  • Fast learner. Ok, so maybe you haven't done 100% on the list above, but you can pick up new things and for you learning curves are more like runways.
  • Communicator. You can dive deep in the weeds and have complex technical conversations with your engineering team, then turn around and explain that same conversation to Marketing, Customer Experience, Business, and our CEO.
  • Up for a challenge. You believe that just because something is difficult that it is not a reason for not doing it. In fact, that might be validation that it is worth doing, right?
  • Humble. While technology is very important, you understand that it is not the be-all end-all and it needs to work in tandem with other aspects of the company and teams in order to be successful.
  • Current. You keep your finger on the (extremely fast-paced) pulse of web development. You're always evaluating new options and can navigate when the appropriate time is to dive in on something new– whether that's immediately or much farther down the line.

Performance Marketing Lead

Los Angeles, CA

What You'll Do

You will live on the cutting edge of growth marketing, understanding there are no shortcuts to building a great brand. You will own and operate a mix of paid acquisition channels, wax philosophical on our high level marketing strategy, and collaborate with the entire team to craft messages and stories that resonate with our target audience.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual who wants to get in on the ground floor of a fast growing e-comm brand as a first mover in our marketing organization. Why? You’ll have ample autonomy and freedom, shoulder a lot of responsibility, report directly to the VP of Marketing and Growth, and personally develop a mission-driven brand that cares deeply about culture. Simply put, this is the kind of environment you’ve been waiting for to launch your career to the next level.

As a Performance Marketing Lead, you’ll:

  • Lead the ideation, prioritization and testing process of new ideas, focusing on breaking new ground and uncovering scalable opportunities that the company is not leveraging today.
  • Develop a data-driven process to rank ideas against key business metrics/plans. Present findings and results to management and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee a portfolio of Ritual’s marketing channels, managing closely to performance targets across spend, conversion and brand response.
  • Manage vendor relationships and help them become an extension of our team.
  • Work with our Engineering and Digital Product teams to improve on-site conversion via landing pages, sign-up flow and cart optimizations.
  • Dig into any other area of our online marketing efforts (analytics, data, emails, etc) where you can make an impact.
  • Test and think outside the box with existing and new channels -- we don't want tried-and-true. Let's explore new territory.

Who you are

  • Someone who gets things done. You’re comfortable acting as a one (wo)man show and/or a project leader of five in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Fast learner. You’ve managed advertising platforms, and paid social experience is a plus. But more importantly, you can speed up the learning curve to master a new marketing channel.
  • A versatile player. You add value at ground zero and 30,000 feet. You are as comfortable executing an A/B test as you are setting a strategic vision.
  • Humble. You believe that what worked yesterday may not work today, and have a never-ending curiosity that drives you to learn and innovate.
  • Communicator. You write well, understand the power of storytelling, and can parse through the numbers to uncover the story within.
  • Analytical. You have strong quantitative skills and a natural inclination to base decisions on data.
  • Gutsy. You understand that not all decisions can be made solely with numbers, and can blend art with science to guide key decisions.

Customer Experience Associate

Los Angeles, CA

What You'll Do

You’ll man (or wo-man) the front lines of relationships with our customers, who are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll answer questions before they’re asked, solve problems before they exist and help us build a world class brand that consistently puts the customer’s well-being first.

As a Customer Experience Associate, you'll:

  • Talk to the people.
  • Communicate with customers and potential customers about everything from science to shipping info. Help people understand what Ritual is all about and assure them we’ll be there every step of the way. Be a friend. A well-informed friend.
  • Keep an ear to the ground.
  • Listen to the Ritual community and relay what you hear through succinct, actionable feedback.
  • Be a team player.
  • Pick up the odd jobs that come with a small team building something big -- pack boxes, make t-shirts, snap Instagram shots, print shipping labels, play office DJ, etc.

Who you are

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made on the fly.  You think for yourself and often do before being asked to do. You could be a bright recent grad or a customer service professional with 1-3 years of experience, as long as you’re:

  • A believer. You’re aligned with our mission to educate and empower consumers, and make the highest quality ingredients accessible to them.
  • Well-spoken. You’re a communicator. Good with your words, whether on email, on the phone or face to face.
  • Tech-savvy. Experience with customer experience software providers like Zendesk, Livechat, and Sprout Social is a plus, but not required if you can adapt and learn quickly.
  • High-energy. You wake up every day eager to learn and tackle new problems.
  • Ambitious. You want your next move to be a career-defining moment you can be proud of.
  • Not a jerk. You know what we mean.
