Ritual is the first supplement company to publicly share the carbon footprint for every product. But it's not just about measuring and disclosing our carbon footprint, we're using those sophisticated measurements to actively find opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint.

Definition
“Net Zero” means we aim to reduce our carbon emissions by 90%, only using offsets after true carbon reductions have occurred. We've spent the last several years getting more sophisticated with our carbon accounting. Through our Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)-based approach, we have built out a very granular view of our entire business which allows us to prioritize the biggest opportunities for reduction.

Other Climate Program Highlights:
— We moved out of our HQ to a shared working space.
— We reduced the carbon footprint of our Essential Protein by 17% by removing the plastic scoop and updating the packaging to include more recycled materials.
— We offset 4.5M kgs of CO2e through our partnership with ClimeCo by supporting a renewable wind project in South Dakota.
Future
— Discussed climate goals with key supply chain partners: We’re only as good as our partners, so we use climate action as a key criteria for assessing and approving new suppliers.
— Supported key climate policies: In partnership with Ceres, we rallied for the passage of policies that included the California Disclosure Policy (SB 253 and SB 261), and provided feedback on proposal details.
— Publish Ritual's Decarbonization Roadmap: This work isn’t quite camera-ready yet, but includes mapping out steps to reduce the emissions associated with higher carbon ingredients and exploring lighter shipping packages, based on the intel from our LCA’s.
